Whenever a college student is asked, "What are you going to do this summer vacation?" The most probable answer might be "I am going to have a travel. " It sounds that college students are fond of travelling. Why? Because travel has numerous advantages.

An Unforgettable Travel
Making a trip to ShangHai on May 18 was an experience which I will never forget。
I arrived in ShangHai at about 2 oclock，and immediately took a No。5 bus to the sea area。The beautiful blue sea was so large that I couldnt see the other side of it。After getting off the bus，I went straight to the shore。Taking off my shoes，I put my feet into the water。The water was cool，and walking in the water was such a great joy that I didnt want to stop。Then I collected shells。When it got dark，I sat on the shore，watching the sea。The night scene was simply marvelous!
Finally I had to go back。It was an unforgettable day in my life。
I like traveling , for it is a activicy that combines a lot of happiness and recreation.

i went to the countryside of beijing to go boating and fishing. it was very interesting. i went shopping in wangfujing. i bought lots of souvenirs and other things. i like eating beijing snacks. they are delicious. don’t miss beijing duck. it is really nice. dalian is a beautiful city. dalian is close to beijing. i spent 5o minutes on the plane. dalian is near the sea. i smelled the salt in the air. the roads are clean. there are lots of trees and flowers near the roads. there are many esplanades and japanese buildings. there are some fountains in one of the esplanades. some people flew kites and walked on the esplanades. we went to see the beach and the sea. the sea is blue. there were many swimmers in the sea. i lay on the beach to see the sky. dalian is a very nice place to live in. huhehot is in inner mongol. there are lots of large grasslands. the grasslands are endless. the sky is bright blue. there were a lot of horses and sheep. they were running or eating grass. i rode a horse on the grassland.
i picked some colourful flowers. we drank tea with milk. there is a small desert, it was very hot when i walked on it. the sand could sing. these trips helped me open my eyes. i enjoyed my day.
People travel by plane, by train, by ship, by bus. For me, the best way of traveling on a summer vacation is to go on foot.
My preference depends on the purpose of the travel. On a summer vacation I travel to refresh myself and to see the countryside. When I use my feet and walk on a grass covered path along a river or among the hills I feel detached from the noise of the city and closer to the nature. And when I travel on foot I get more freedom. I can plan my own schedule. I can choose my own route. I can stop where I like. And I can see things and people that I might miss if I travel on a train or on a bus.
When faster and more convenient ways for travel are becoming available, I still favor using my own feet. I get much pleasure from it. People travel by plane, by train, by ship, by bus. To me, the best way of traveling on a summer vacation is to go on foot.

It is universally acknowledged that tour can make people feel happy; traveling is a good way to relax oneself. Tourist data shows that people in China made a great contribution to the world tourism, and it’s more and more popular for people to go out for vocation. Dingling, the underground mausoleum of Emperor Wan Li, is one of the thirteen imperial tombs of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). Emperor Wan Li (1573-1620) ordered the construction of his own tomb when he was 22 and it took six years to complete the construction which cost about two years land taxes of the entire empire. The Emperor gave a party in his own funeral chamber, so the chronicles say, to mark its completion, and thirty years later he was buried in it amid a splendid ceremony.
The tomb was excavated in 1958 and has since been open to the public as an underground museum.
Some fifty kilometers northwest of Beijing city center, the group of tombs (known as Ming Tombs) near Dingling are scattered around the southern slopes of the Heavenly Longevity Mountains(1), bounded by hills on three sides with a southern exposure to an open plain.
The approach to the Ming Tombs is a shaded 7-kilometer-long road known as the Sacred Way. Its beginning is marked with a marble archway standing 27 meters long and 15 meters high. The marble archway is similar to the triumphal arches of Europe (Paris, Rome, Berlin, etc.). This archway, one of the finest and best preserved in the country, was erected in 1540, at a time when Chinese architecture had reached its climax.
A stone table nearby proclaims that entrants must dismount at this point and proceed on foot, that admittance beyond the archway was forbidden to ordinary citizens, and that violating this law was punishable by death.
Further on, this road is lined with gigantic stone statues, 24 of lions, camels, elephants, horses, and mythical animals and 12 of generals, civil mandarins, and courtiers(2).
Dingling consists of the underground palace and surface structures, most of which are now in ruin, leaving the magnificent soul Tower still standing in a spacious courtyard. Each corner of the Tower is a single block of stone.
Summer comes , and the weather has become irritating. My big sister suggested going to Hainan for a good relax. I thought about it for a while and agreed. I took a trip to Shanghai with my mother during the seven-day holiday. It took us more than two hours to drive to Shanghai from my home in Haimen. We stayed in a large hotel on the eighth floor.
On the first day， I just stayed in the hotel and rested. On the second day， my brother and I went to Nanjing Road. It’s the busiest street in Shanghai. When we got there， there were lots of people. Every now and then, I get the itch to travel. It is said that traveling may be a feast for the eyes. And it makes our life colorful and meaningful. Meanwhile it can broaden one’s knowledge and vision.
I enjoyed traveling very much. So I went to some places which I looked forward to all the way. To spend the summer holiday, my parents were determined to have a trip to the Great Wall .So did I. When we arrived at the destination, I couldn’t wait to jump out of the seat. The stretching hills and winding walls attracted me at once. When I climbed the top of it, I saw a sign saying “The man who has not climbed the Great Wall is not a true man.” There stood thick trees along both sides of the Great Wall. So the air we breathed was very fresh that I had never experienced. Of course we took many pictures.
Generally speaking, having on a trip can relax ourselves, appreciate the beauty of nature. What’s more, we can broaden our mind and make friends with a supply of people from different countries and colors. So, it is useful for us to have a travel if we are free and enough money.

I like traveling, I consider it can broaden my horizons and make my life more colorful. Now going backpacking is becoming more and more popular. As for me, I would prefer to have a package tour.
I am a cautious person. I want everything will follow my plans, So when I decide to go for a trip, I must make a detailed list about the things I would take with me, the flight and accommodation and the trip itinerary. I know going backpacking is more exciting and more free, however, it is likely to meet difficulties. You may not solve problems by yourself and you will be trapped. I don’t want to see the bad condition happen. Therefore , I always prepare for the worst before my trip. Maybe I can’t enjoy the natural views like backpackers, but I can be relaxed and would not worry more about my travel. I just put my heart to the travel.
